Tingley earns commendation

Colfax Fire Capt. Tim Tingley was presented with a letter of commendation Sept. 6 by Chief Clark Capwell. The letter was presented for Tingley’s response to the grass and brush fire which ignited on the west hill Aug. 18.

Tingley was cited for his quick response to the scene and for calling in other departments to counter the fire which was started by a transformer failure along the Old Almota Road.

The fire, which was driven by a strong wind, threatened several homes in the area.
