Tekoa's burn pile was the subject of city council discussion Aug. 15. The council decided to keep it open throughout the year except for during burn bans.
Mayor John Jaeger suggested to close it except for two months in fall and spring.
The pile was relocated two years ago to a spot just south of the city hall shop. It is normally burned twice per year, in the spring, as permitted, and late in October.
The pile is for local residents only.
“Just because Latah can't burn doesn't mean Latah can bring their stuff over here,” Mayor Jaeger commented....
