The S.J.E.L. bus rolled north again for another non-league game Sept. 23, this time against Columbia of Hunters.
“S.J.E.L. had a tough road trip,” said Eagles coach Ken Gering. “They were ready for us.”
Losing 68-6 in the 3 p.m. day game, the St. John/Endicott/LaCrosse team (0-3) struggled.
“They definitely took advantage of your younger line,” Gering said. “That was probably the toughest team we've played yet.”
S.J.E.L. scored in the fourth quarter on a 29-yard pass play from freshman backup Trey Fleming to Dustin Fox.
Levi Bailey ran for 69 yards in the game while quarterback Reagan Harrison ran for 52.
The Eagles will play next on Friday for homecoming against Tekoa/Rosalia. Kickoff is 7 p.m. in St. John.
