Pullman Chamber prepares for tour

The Pullman Chamber of Commerce is again teaming up with the Ports of Whitman, Clarkston and Lewiston for its annual Port tour.

The tour will begin in Pullman at 7 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, with coffee and pastries at the Pullman Chamber of Commerce office. The bus will depart from the chamber office at 7:30 a.m., and it will return around 7:30 p.m. that same day.

The Port tour will head to a variety of locations in Pullman and in the Lewiston-Clarkston areas.

The Pullman stops include the WSU wheat research facility at the College of Agricultural, Human and Natural Resource Sciences, Ferdinand's Ice Cream Shoppe and the WSU Creamery and the environmental sciences building.

“All three have confirmed, but they're working out the details,” said Port Properties and Development Manager.

The Pullman Chamber is in charge of planning the event, but Chamber Director Marie Dymkoski, who is planning the tour, is out on vacation and was unavailable for comment. A detailed schedule has not yet been released.

Snell said lunch will be at the Quality Inn in Lewiston from 12 to 1:30 p.m., and there will be speakers there as well.

Other stops include the CHS Primeland facility and Renaissance Marine facility at the Port of Clarkston.

“It looks like a fun day,” said Snell. “It is a full day, but it can be a lot of fun.”

Snell said the day will likely end with a social hour.

“Generally, we end up at a winery or brewery for the last stop,” she said. “I'm sure the same type of thing will happen at the end of the day.”

Cost of the tour is $60 per person for the full tour, or $20 for lunch only. Reservations must be made prior to noon on Friday, Oct. 28. One bus is scheduled for the tour.

Reservations can be made by calling or e-mailing the chamber. They can also be made in person at the chamber office, located at 415 N. Grand Avenue. Advance payment is required.
