WSU fans, hunters visit Dusty residents

Dusty

Several Dusty area residents attended the Coyote Jack event in Hay Sunday.

Weekend guests at the home of Warren and Connie Horton were friends Mike and Vicki Kimmling from Priest River, Idaho. They came for the WSU football game and to see the Palouse area.

Dusty natives and former residents Joanne Krom Kimmel, Talent, Ore., and Claudia Krom Marshall, Renton, were in the area over the weekend. They are the daughters of the late John and Elizabeth Krom, Sr. They visited with their sister Virginia Krom Sanders, Colfax, and brother and sister-in-law John and Kay Krom, Jr., Pullman, before returning home Sunday.

Thursday evening dinner guests at the home of Karen Broeckel were her sister, Jeanette Nolan, Colfax, and their cousin, John Allyn Murray, Bellingham. Murray has been here for the hunting season.

Weekend guests of Broeckel were Murphy Nolan, daughter of Andrew and Emily Nolan of Colfax, and her trusty dog Luca. The rest of her family was in Spokane at the dinosaur exhibit and to meet their two-week-old cousin, Finley. Monday afternoon, Jim Carlson, Deer Park, and Jerry Carlson, Ephrata, stopped in at the Broeckel home for coffee and a visit. They were also hunting in the area.

Sunday, Oct. 23, at 10 a.m., before the regular 11 a.m. worship service, Pastor Steve Szasz of the Country Bible Church will share his testimonial of his escape from communist terrorism in Hungary to become a refugee in America. Pastor Szasz has served the Country Bible Church near Dusty for three years.

Mark your calendars to partake of the traditional turkey dinner at the Methodist Church in LaCrosse Wednesday, Nov. 2. They will begin serving at 5:30 p.m. and will continue until they run out of food. The dinner is sponsored by the United Methodist Women’s group. The menu consists of turkey, homemade gravy, mashed potatoes, dressing, green beans, tossed salad, Jello salad, rolls, cranberry sauce and pumpkin pie. Take-out is available.
