Federal agencies begin scoping process on dams

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Bureau of Reclamation and Bonneville Power Administration have begun the process to prepare an environmental impact statement (EIS) on the Columbia River System operations and configurations for 14 dams in the interior Columbia Basin.

Public input is now being gathered with a series of meetings which began Oct. 24 in Wenatchee.

Meetings will be held at the Davenport Hotel in Spokane Nov. 14 and Lewiston Red Lion Nov. 16.
