Riggs turns out ‘Another Sports Book’

Dick Riggs, former school superintendent at Rosalia has written "Just Another Sports Book" which is scheduled to go to press next week. A former long-time superintendent at Asotin, Riggs served at Rosalia from 1990 until 1992 when he retired to conclude a 34-year school career. He was superintendent at Asotin for 15 years before going to Rosalia.

Riggs and his wife Barbara, both born and raised in Lewistion, now reside in the Lewiston house which was once the home of J.B. Evans, the first coach at Washington Agriculture College in Pullman. Evans was Barbara's grandfather.

The Riggs book includes Colfax sports figures including Art DaWald, Hall of Famer who led Colfax to a state title; the Codger Pole, and WSC grads, including the late Roberty Goldsworthy of Rosalia who served in World War II. Another Colfax-related topic is the tale of Sid Otton, who is retiring this year after a legendary stint as football coach at Tumwater. Otton made a coaching stop at Colfax earlier in his career.

Riggs plans a book signing at And Books, Too in Clarkston. He will also sell the book from his [email protected].
