Fairview storm drain project

A Colfax city crew started work last Thursday on clearing a street drain which was described as a potential hazard for motorists at the top of the Fairview Street hill. The drain is located at the corner of Fairview and Hillcrest streets. The plugged drain caused rain water to flow down the Fairview Street hill, and it was viewed as a hazard which could get worse in freezing temperatures.

Public Works Director Matt Hammer reported the cause of the plug was discovered to be a board which had become lodged against a pipe.
