Endicott
Endicott school's Grandparents Day and Veterans Day programs were Nov. 10. In the morning, the school paired up students with their grandparents and surrogate grandparents.
Classes were adjourned and they all enjoyed lunch in the cafeteria. At 12:15 p.m. all the students and guests went to the gym for the Veterans Day program. Principal Bruce Porubek welcomed everyone to the event. All branches of the military were present including the Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines and Coast Guard. The classes and the high school band performed a variety of patriotic music and poems. Air Force Major Karl Scheuerman, son of Richard Scheuerman, from Fairchild Air Force Base, spoke about being in the military and serving the country. At the end of the program, a video was shown with pictures of veterans who have lived here or have had family living here.
Trinity Lutheran Church hosted its third Celebration Concert at the church Sunday. Pastor Phil Misner welcomed everyone attending. On the program were 13 different musical presentations, including piano, organ, violins, cello, harp and singing. The last piece, "God Bless America," was sung by the Endicott Community Choir directed by Pat Byers, and the last chorus was sung by the choir and the attendees. A coffee hour with cookies and conversation followed.
Endicott Food Center will host Shop Locally for the Holidays Saturday, Nov. 19, from 1 to 4 p.m. for local vendors. This will be the second annual shopping event with a lot of Christmas gifts and food.
Endicott Gun Club will have a Meat Shoot Nov. 20. Events include 20 Yard Singles, Buddy Shoot, Annie Oaklely, Miss & Out and Splatter Board.
