Erin Wise
returns to Tekoa
Tekoa High graduate Erin Wise will come back to Tekoa for a vocal performance Dec. 11 at 2 p.m. at the Tekoa Empire Theatre. The concert will be titled "The Next Chapter: a Season of Hope" to celebrate the holidays and the new year.
Wise has resided in Seattle for the past eight years and is a performance advisor for Illuminate Learning in Seattle.
The daughter of Randy and Darlene Wise of Tekoa, she graduated with a music education degree from Eastern Washington University in 2005 and studied for performance certification in New York.
She has lost more than 170 pounds, and the concert at the Empire will also be a celebration of that and a fundraiser to help with the next step of her weight loss journey.
She plans to sing a variety of songs, including Christmas and Disney songs for the performance.
Empire to show
'Wonderful Life'
Tekoa Empire Theatre this Saturday will have a free showing at 2 p.m. of the original black and white film “It’s a Wonderful Life,” starring James Stewart and Henry Travers. This well-loved, multi-generational movie celebrates life in the midst of difficulty and is a great way to introduce children and grandchildren to great American black and white classic movies.
The event is sponsored by the theatre and the Tekoa Chamber of Commerce. Concessions will be sold, and trivia and prizes will be awarded.
