Jingle Bell fun run to start Pullman fest

The YMCA of the Palouse will present the sixth annual Jingle Bell Fun Run in Pullman Dec. 3. Registration is at 3:15 p.m., the race starts at 4 p.m.

The holiday-themed run is the official kickoff to Pullman's Holiday Fest, an annual shop local campaign which marks its start with promotions, entertainment and a visit from Santa Claus.

The run is open to children 12 and younger, and cost to participate is $10 per child. Adults are allowed to accompany the youngsters at no cost. The race will start behind the YMCA office at 105 SE Spring Street, follow the riverwalk trail and end at Pine Street Plaza. Holiday-themed costumes are encouraged.

The fun run will be followed by a tree lighting ceremony at 4:10 p.m. in the Pine Street Plaza. Performances by Franklin Fox Jazz Choir and The Sunnyside Singers at 4:25 and 4:40 p.m. Santa will arrive at 5 p.m. He will be joined by a skit from the Pullman Civic Theatre, and then the Lincoln Middle School choir will take the stage at 5:30 p.m.

A marshmallow roast will conclude the evening at 6 p.m. at the Paradise Creek Brewery.
