Democrats point out factors in county win

Whitman County Democrats pointed out their "blue county" finish in the presidential race Saturday while issuing a call for a reorganization meeting Saturday. Final count in the presidential race Tuesday showed Democrat Hillary Clinton finishing with a 743-vote margin over Donald Trump for 47.07 percent of the vote. Trump finished with 42.78, and Gary Johnson finished with 7.09 percent. Whitman County was the lone county east of the Cascades in Washington state to land in the Democratic column.
