Fire crews early Sunday morning battled a fire which destroyed the shop located on the farm of the late Ed Holmes just south of the Rosalia rest stop on Highway 195. Rosalia firefighters received a report from a motorist at 2 a.m. and found the building engulfed in flames. Volunteers from Tekoa, Oakesdale, Garfield, Palouse, Steptoe, Colfax and Albion assisted at the scene. Crews rotated duty in the 10-degree temperatures. Crews were at the scene until about 6 a.m. and returned later for a five-hour mop up operation. See story Bulletin Column page 7A....
