Serving Whitman County since 1877
The City of Pullman is asking for public input on the 2017 city council goals.
The city annually requests suggestions from residents, and according to a city press release, numerous resident-generated suggestions were incorporated into the list adopted last year.
While not all ideas were incorporated, Mayor Glenn Johnson said suggestions made in the past can be re-submitted.
The council and mayor will hold a special meeting once the goals are received, and together they will discuss and refine the goals and add their own suggestions. The council will also meet with city department heads to discuss the goals. According to the press release, the final list of goals will be brought before the city council for formal adoption in March or April.
The 2016 goals were adopted by the council on April 26. Among the goals were to continue to support the Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport Runway Realignment project, continue to pursue the wastewater reuse project, continue to promote economic development opportunities, work closely with Pullman Regional Hospital, improve bicycle and pedestrian trails, update the city's ADA transition plan and pursue next step options for promoting the south bypass to become a reality.
A full list of the 2016 goals with more information is available on the Pullman city website under council reports.
The city asks for goal suggestions to be sent to Mayor Johnson's office by Tuesday, Jan. 31.
There are several ways to submit goals. They can be submitted via email to [email protected] with 2017 Goals as the subject line or faxed to 509-334-2751. Goals can also be mailed to:
