The Colfax Direct Seeders will meet at 7 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 18, at the Colfax Methodist Church meeting room. A hot breakfast served by the Top Notch Café and hosted by Ag Tech will be provided.
Travis Hillman and Dusty Eddy of the Ag Tech Inc. company of The Dalles will present variable rate technology for creating field zones for spraying and fertilizing. Ag Tech is affiliated with Jones Truck and Implement of Colfax.
Local growers who use variable rate technology will be at the meeting to share their views on setting up filed zones.
Also at the meeting will be Dr. Isaac Madsen of WSU Crops and Soils with his real-time, live images of canola and wheat roots growing against buried computer screens. He will discuss fertility management of canola.
