Tekoa/Oakesdale boys Friday pegged their first league win, 50-45, after making the long trip to Kettle Falls. They took control with a 15-4 breakout in the second quarter. Deven Cripe led TR with 16 points. Craig Mueller hit 11, and Eddie Frick and Mike Greybeck each hit eight.
Saturday at Rosalia Davenport escaped with a one-point win, 42-41, after TR had pegged a 26-22 lead at the half. Mueller hit 20 points against the Gorillas in the close game.
Tekoa/Rosalia girls also booked a split on the weekend. They dropped Kettle Falls 51-44. The 'wolves unloaded on the hosts with a 19-8 run in the first quarter. Hannah Beach hit 13 at Kettle, Tatiana Mendoza hit nine and Kylee Jenneskens finished with eight.
Saturday, the Gorilla girls out-paced TR with a 40-14 lead after the first two quarters on the way to a 60-33 cruncher. Davenport is rolling on a 10-1 record.
Madi Abbott hit 15 for the Gorillas, and Sydney Zeller hit 14.
Beach led TR with with seven, and Mendoza and Ella Gregory six each.
