Colfax-Garfield/Palouse wrestlers placed third Saturday among 13 teams at the Mary Walker wrestling tournament in Springdale. The Bulldog/Viking combo scored 107 points behind the 185 win posted by Rainier which made a cross state trip to Springdale.
East Valley placed second with 147 points.
Colfax edged host Mary Walker by nine points for third place and finished ahead of five other teams in the NE league which attended the Charger Invitational.
Team members Dane Hall and Travis Knauff advanced all the way to the title match in the 152 class, and Hall placed first on a decision.
Chris Jones was stopped on a decision to Gunnar Hildebrandt in the 145 class. Hildebrandt won the class, and Jones decisioned Ted Lester of Rainier for third place.
Nolan Burrill advanced to the consolation final in the 106 class and finished in fourth place.
The Bulldog/Viking team had been slated to wrestle St. Maries Wednesday in a match at Palouse, but the matchup was scratched Tuesday due to weather.
The team is scheduled to travel to Kittitas Saturday for its next action. RESULTS
