Broeckels make trek to visit California

Dusty

Ed and Joan Broeckel went to Brentwood, Calif., over New Year’s to visit Ed’s sister and family, Dellene and Kevin Burdsall. They also were able to see the Burdsall children Melissa, Darcy and Chad. They were treated to a Warrior’s basketball game and thoroughly enjoyed the 60 degree weather in California. Last weekend, the Broeckels visited their daughter, Jen and Anthony, in Bellevue. Sunday afternoon, they drove to Burlington to see Joan’s Mother and family.

A number of Dusty residents paid their respects Saturday at the full military funeral services for LaCrosse native Morrie Camp. Camp grew up in LaCrosse, graduated from LaCrosse High School in 1963, served in the U.S. military and operated the family farm. He is survived by two daughters and a brother. He was the son of the late Don and Nona Camp.

Dusty B.B. Club canceled last week’s meeting to make baby blankets for the free maternity clinic at Sacred Heart Hospital in Spokane due to inclement weather and bad road conditions. No new date has been rescheduled.
