Design students view park

A group of WSU design students Saturday visited Firemen’s Park at the intersection of S. Main and Highway 195 for a proposed class project.

The students are studying possible installation of a city sign at the park to direct traffic to Whitman Hospital and other locations, according to Mayor Todd Vanek.

The students met with Hospital Administrator Hank Hanigan, and they also checked out the small park.

Bob Krikac, chairman of the Colfax Historic Preservation committee, accompanied the students. Krikac is also on the design faculty at Washington State University.
