Lancers crunch Tekoa/Rosalia

Liberty teams Tuesday posted big wins over neighboring Tekoa/Rosalia at Spangle. The Lancer boys rolled out a 73-35 win with Tyler Haas hitting 16, and the girls topped the Timberwolves 76-52 with Maisie Burnham hitting a league-high 31 points and Christine Denny hitting 16. Tatiana Mendoza led the T-wolves with 17.

Tekoa/Rosalia girls booked a 57-38 win at Springdale in the Saturday league round with Mendoza hitting 16 points. They rolled out a 14-5 charge in the fourth quarter to get the win.

Friday at Rosalia, the TR girls battled Wilbur/Creston for three quarters before the Wildcats booked a strong last quarter for a 55-45 win. Hannah Beach hit 16 against the 'cats, and Mendoza hit 14.

The Tekoa/Rosalia boys picked up their fourth win of the season on the home court Friday with a 19-12 edge in the last quarter for a 52-45 final edge over the Wilbur/Creston Wildcats.

Freshman Mitchell Billings hit 12 against the 'cats, and sophomore Devin Cripe hit 10.

Saturday at Springdale, T/R boys spotted the Chargers 11 points in the first quarter and then kept pace but could not erase the early lead posted by the hosts. Springdale won 66-51. Cripe hit 18 against the 10-5 Charger team.

Both Tekoa/Rosalia teams are now 10-2 in the overall NE league standings.
