Chief’s report details fire battle

A follow up report of the East Street apartment house fire compiled by Colfax Chief Steven Thime listed several details about the fire battle which extended over 26 hours after it was reported Jan. 15 at 12:26 p.m.

Chief Thime Thursday said the city will rely on an investigation being conducted for the company which insured the building to determine the cause of the fire.

The chief’s report noted the first crew on scene made a primary search of the burning structure and cleared occupants out of the building and called for more support.
