U-town sausage feed set March 5

Uniontown's 64th annual Sausage Feed is scheduled for March 5 at the Uniontown Community Building on Highway 195. Hours will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

The Sausage Feed has been held since 1954 to raise funds for the maintenance and operation of the Community Building. In recent years new energy efficient heating systems and hot water heaters have been installed and new kitchen equipment purchased. The next priority is refurbishing the façade of the building.

This will be an all-you-can-eat meal served on a first come, first served basis. They also offer dinners to go. The menu will include sausage made from a secret recipe, mashed potatoes, sauerkraut, green beans, applesauce, rolls, pie and beverage. A beer garden is available for those 21 and older. Tickets are available only at the door at $12 for adults, $8 for kids aged 6 to 12 and $2 for kids under 6.

The barbershop quartet "4 Names in a Hat" will serenade diners and those who wait with their harmonies.

Several antique shops and Wawawai Canyon Winery will be open.

Artisans at the Dahmen Barn will also open the gift shop which features locally created arts and crafts as well as books by local authors and specialty foods from local products.
