The Colton girls aim to defend their District Nine 1B championship Friday night in Colfax against Pomeroy.
The Wildcats began the tournament with a bye and advanced with a 61-40 win over Touchet Feb. 10 while Pomeroy beat Waitsburg 55-24 and Oakesdale 68-49 for a slot in the title game.
Oakesdale, who beat Colton (19-2) in the regular season and split with Pomeroy (16-5), will meet Touchet in an elimination game Friday at 3 p.m. The winner advances to the second place game Saturday evening against the loser of Colton-Pomeroy.
On the road to state, only two teams will advance from the district tournament.

Dakota Patchen led the Wildcats with 18 points while Emily Schultheis had 11 points. Kendyl Druffel scored eight points with eight assists. Abby Kelly delivered eight rebounds.
Katie Skramstad led Touchet with 23 points.
Colton led 39-21 at halftime on its way to securing a spot in the district championship game against Pomeroy. Touchet dropped to the loser's bracket to play Waitsburg, who they beat to advance to meet Oakesdale.

A 22-point output from Jacey Johnson led Oakesdale Monday as they eliminated Garfield/Palouse. The loss ended the Vikings' season with a 6-11 record.
Payson Griner led Garfield/Palouse with 13 points against the Nighthawks while Paige Collier had seven.
Lindsey Lindgren and Logan Reed scored seven points each for Oakesdale.

The Pomeroy girls advanced to the district championship with a win at Oakesdale Feb. 10. Sydney Smith led the Pirates with 20 points while Madison Dixon added 19. Sydney Watko scored 11 points and pulled down 12 rebounds. Dixon had 12 rebounds as well.
Jacey Johnson led Oakesdale with 19 points, and Lizzy Perry scored nine.
