First Buttercup

The Widmans of Rosalia again brought in the first buttercup of the year to the Gazette Feb. 17. Tipped off by a neighbor the night before, Reed Widman, 9, and Sonia Widman, 6, went looking with Daxton Chappelle, 10. They each received $1 from Publisher Gordon Forgey. It was their ninth consecutive year claiming the prize.
