Chunmoon Cho, 26, Pullman, was sentenced to 30 days in jail Feb. 17 in county superior court after he pleaded guilty to charges of four counts of possession of child pornography. He was also ordered to undergo 36 months of sexual offender treatment and was placed on 101 months of community custody.
Cho was ordered to have no contact with minors and not to possess a computer with capacity to connect to the internet. His use of a computer will be subject to screening by a probation officer under terms of the sentencing.
Cho was originally charged May 25, 2016. Pullman officers March 8, 2016, went to the apartment where he was living on Valley Road in Pullman. According to the arrest report, the investigation began when a Moscow officer who monitored an internet child pornography sharing site determined one of the participants was using a computer in Pullman. The computer was located through a warrant served on the internet service provider.
All pornographic material seized from Cho was ruled contraband and forfeited to the agency which confiscated it. Cho was allowed a delay in serving the 30-day sentence but was ordered to report to jail no later than April 21. The court also ordered him to appear for annual hearings in February of 2018 and 2019 to review his treatment status.
