The 10-member Garfield/Palouse “Vikotics” team won the 2017 West Valley First Robotics League championship at West Valley March 3-4.
The second-year team, made up of Garfield/Palouse High School students, also won the Industrial Design award from General Motors.
A total of 30 teams competed at West Valley.
The team's top overall place qualifies it for the Pacific Northwest Championships at Cheney April 5-8.
They will also compete March 17-18 at Ellensburg for the Central Washington District event.
More teams will qualify in Ellensburg to make up the 64 who will vie for the Northwest Championships in Spokane.
