Bulldogs peg five wins in track opener

Colfax girls rolled up four event wins Saturday, March 18, in the big Central Idaho Invitational at Lapwai to open the track season.

Parker Warwick won the 100 hurdles at 18.09, and Lexie Smith won the pole vault at 8-0 with Piper Cai second at 7-6.

The Colfax 4x100 relay team clocked a win at 53.7 with Smith, Avery Mackleit, Kaitlyn Cornish and Taylre Sakamoto-Howell running legs. The Bulldogs also won the 4x200 relay with Smith, Sakamoto-Howell, Warwick and Cai.

Junior Dane Hall won the long jump on the boys side with a leap of 17.9. Caleb Brown placed fourth in the high jump at 6-8, and Jared Kneale placed sixth in shotput at 37-1.

Ben Ahmann pegged sixth in both hurdle events.
