Serving Whitman County since 1877
Colfax City Council April 3 approved a contract for Scott Parrish of Colfax to do the mowing at McDonald Park on a bid of $2,000 per month. Councilman Al Vorderbrueggen reported the contract has been accepted by the city’s parks committee.
Colfax Golf Course, which had previously held the contract for McDonald, and a landscaping firm also bid on the mowing job.
Vorderbrueggen said the bids were reviewed by the joint school and city committee which oversees the operation of McDonald Park. The park’s bookkeeping is handled by the city.
A lot of the maintenance work at McDonald Park is done by volunteers, and Parrish will primarily be in charge of the turf management. The mowing contract will extend until after the second frost in the fall.
