Serving Whitman County since 1877
A $15,455 technology grant recently announced by The Washington State Library will provide laptops and tablets that will be used in digital learning classes featuring Microsoft Imagine Academy and Coding Camp curriculum. This equipment was awarded to the Endicott, LaCrosse, Malden, Rosalia and St. John branch libraries.
Clancy Pool, project coordinator, said the grant will benefit all county residents by alleviating some of the scheduling pressure on the library’s existing laptop lab which is currently being shared among all of the branch locations and is used for outreach instruction to area schools.
Funding for this project is made possible through a legislative appropriation that provides free access to Microsoft Imagine Academy for all residents of Washington State along with MOS certification testing and support, administered through The Washington State Library. Class information will soon be available at www. whitco.lg.wa.us, WCL Facebook pages or by calling the St. John branch library.
