Expected to resume in March, the county's Sand Road project near Pullman remains on hold due to weather. “We're maybe a few weeks away from starting at this point,” said Mark Storey, county Public Works director. “There's water everywhere.” Work remaining includes one-half mile of road still to build a base for and realign, followed by cleanup on the section where a rock crusher was last fall when, due to high rainfall in October, the project was put on hold. Once complete, the project work will widen the 24-to-26-foot road to 28-to-30 feet.
