Lloyd Albert Elze
Lloyd Albert Elze, 78, Thornton, died April 12, 2017, in Spokane. In accordance with his wishes, a funeral service will not be conducted.
He was born on August 22, 1938, in Westcliffe, Colo., to Marion L. and Martin G. (Hunt) Elze. His parents were part of the pioneer families in Wet Mountain Valley, Colo. The oldest of four siblings, he grew up and attended schools in Taos, N.M., before enlisting in the Navy. He spent two years serving in the Navy before returning home and attending Fresno City College in Fresno, Calif.
Lloyd and his wife, Edna, were married in Reno, Nev., in 1964. He worked for the railroad for 20 years driving hazmat trucks before retiring and driving harvest truck for Henning’s Farms.
Surviving are his wife, Edna, Thornton; four children, Philip Elze of Farmington, N.M., Henryetta Elze of Jarrell, Texas; Louise Richey of Farmington, N.M., and Martin Elze of Anchorage, Alaska; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren, and four siblings; Barbara Debenedetto of California; Lucille Tenorio, Taos, N.M .; Betty Grubbs of Arkansas and Ralph Elze of California.

James M. Gunn
James M. Gunn, 68, a member of the 1966 class at Colfax High School, died in Spokane April 5, 2017, while in hospice care. Mr. Gunn had resided in Spokane since 1972.
His family plans a gathering Aug. 20 at Schmuck Park for a celebration of his life, and all are welcome to attend.
Born June 5, 1948, to Arnold and Jeanne Gunn in Salinas, Calif., he moved with his family to Colfax. He enjoyed music and was a member of "The Hustlers" band in high school.
After graduating at Colfax, he earned a degree in business from Washington State University and worked in construction in Spokane and later in the Coeur d'Alene Lake area.
He and Ann Morasch were married in 1969. They were divorced in 1989.
In 1990 he returned to college at Eastern Washington University and earned a masters degree in physical therapy. He was a physical therapist in Spokane for 20 years.
Surviving are two children, Chad and Jenny Gunn, and two grandchildren.
Jonny Joe Allen
Jonny Joe Allen, 57, Pullman, died Monday, April 17, 2017 at Pullman Regional Hospital. Kimball Funeral Home of Pullman is in charge of arrangements. A full obituary will be published at a later date.
