The Colfax School District's curriculum adoption schedule may lead to a new curricula for English-language arts and Spanish by the 2017-18 school year.
Giving an update Monday night to the board, Superintendent Jerry Pugh told of how the process is now in its first year of evaluating the two subjects for grades 7-12.
Brenda Kneeshaw, the district's curriculum coach, leads the three-year process. Beginning in January, year one is for research, followed by adoption for the second year and review in the third.
Pugh expects that later this spring or summer, Kneeshaw and the subject's teachers will recommend a new path to the board for approval.
It may or may not include new textbooks or e-books.
The Colfax district's curriculum adoption schedule will turn next to social studies for kindergarten through 12th grade.
