Family Fair Saturday in Pullman

The 21st annual Family Fair at Lincoln Middle School will be Saturday, April 29, and will bring together 30 organizations to provide a day of family-centered activities.

The fair this year is themed “Families Matter,” and it is free and open to families with children of all ages, parents, grandparents and caregivers.

The fair is meant to highlight services from local organizations and agencies that benefit families. Agency booths will be set up throughout the school and gym, and the booths will have resource information, as well as a children's activity or exhibit display.

“Sometimes people are new to town, and they don't know what's available to them, so this is a good way to become aware,” said Daquarii Rock, executive director at United Way of Pullman.

Rock said there will be several non-profit organizations on hand, and the YMCA will also hold a fun run and bike rodeo. She added that the fire department and police department will give safety presentations and do car seat safety checks, bike helmet checks and educate on bicycle safety.

“It's a really big deal. We really need people to come,” said Rock. “It's kind of a cool thing.”

There will be snacks and water, as well as live entertainment. The RTOP theater will be on hand to give a performance, too.

“There will be all kinds of stuff going on,” said Rock.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday. Lincoln Middle School is located at 315 SE Crestview St. in Pullman.
