Washington Federal marks 100 years

Branches of Washington Federal marked the 100th anniversary of the bank over the past couple of weeks.

The bank originally opened in Ballard in 1917.

The Colfax branch, which opened here about four years ago, marked the celebration with treats and prizes.

Washington Federal has two branches in Whitman County, both at former Bank of America sites.

The other branch is in Pullman, though the branch is set to vacate that building in May for a temporary Main Street location.

The current building will be demolished to make way for a five-story apartment structure in the same location, and Pullman’s Washington Federal will be on the ground floor of that building when it is complete.
