Patrick Schweiger
A celebration of life and covered dish dinner for Patrick Schweiger, 67, former LaCrosse area farmer who resided at Asotin since 2008, will begin at noon Saturday, April 29, at Hell's Canyon Resort, 35909 Snake River Road in Asotin.
Mr. Schweiger died July 23, 2016, at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center in Lewiston from complications of leukemia.
Born April 10, 1949, in Colfax, to Walter and Eleanor Schweiger of LaCrosse, he moved with his family to Clarkston and attended Clarkston schools and graduated from Clarkston High School in 1968. He and and his high school sweetheart, Vickie Hutchins, were married Nov. 24, 1968, and had been together 47 years at the time of his passing.
They moved back to LaCrosse in 1974, and he operated the family farm for 30 years and drove a tour boat in the off-season. After he retired from farming, they moved to Asotin and he became a full-time boat captain and tour guide on the Snake River.
He was a member of the Catholic Church, most recently at Holy Family in Clarkston.
Surviving are his wife, Vickie; children Dawn (Ryan) Morris, Brandy (Scott) Hardy and Cole (Tracy) Schweiger; brother Mike Schweiger; sister Jerri Standley; nine grandchildren, and one great-grandson.
