Colfax senior Danny Robinson pitches a perfect game last Saturday against Reardan.
Terrell Webb of LaCrosse, playing for Colfax, slides into second base against Reardan April 22.
Two no-hitters by Colfax pitchers against Reardan Saturday at McDonald Park wrapped a 10-0 run for the Bulldogs in the NE-south league. One of the no-hitters was a perfect game thrown by Danny Robinson in his last regular league game as a senior.
Robinson's Colfax perfecto followed one served up by Cal Gregory at Lind/Ritzville/Sprague last week.
The 10-0 finish means the Bulldogs get a top seed when NE teams from both sides begin the playoff next Tuesday. The Bulldogs will have a bye and then match up against a winner of a first-round elimination game, probably a match between Northwest Christian and Kettle Falls.
Robinson's perfect opener Saturday was backed by zero errors by the Colfax defense on the way to a 22-0 win in the first game which was shut down after five innings. He struck out nine of the 15 batters he faced.
Colfax offense laced 17 hits to the finish with the 22-0 win over the Indians.
Robinson led the hitting with a triple, and Gregory and Kieran Anderson each tagged a double.
Gregory, one of the Oakesdale players, finished with a 4-4 day at the plate and batted in four runs. Anderson, another of the Oakesdale players on the Colfax team, had a 2-3 day and batted in three runs.
In the second game, Akesson struck out seven Reardan batters, walked just three and hit one batter. He allowed the three walks in the second inning but managed to get out of the situation and finish the no-hitter.
Colfax had eight hits in the second game and cashed in on five Reardan errors.
Robinson and Kelan Becker each tagged a double to top the hitting in the second game. Anderson had two hits and finished with four RBIs in the second game to total seven for the day.
Colfax hosted Reardan Saturday after defeating Colton 7-1 Friday in a non-leaguer Friday at McDonald Park. Parker Huber allowed Colton five hits in taking the win against the Wildcats who are in a battle with Pomeroy for the top slot in the SE-B race.
The Bulldogs rattled 12 hits off Colton pitchers. Reece Chadwick started for the Wildcats, and Nick Schultheis came to the mound in the fifth.
Gregory hit three of the 12 Colfax hits, and Huber, Akesson and Anderson each had two hits for the Bulldogs.
Reece and Brady Chadwick each hit a double for Colton, and Tom Wolf had the other three Colton hits, all singles.
Next Colfax baseball action booked at McDonald Park will be a non-league double against Touchet on Saturday. Colfax also has a game date booked with Pullman, but the matchup keeps getting bumped as both teams have used good weather days to get in their required league games.
