An open house to celebrate Donna Camp’s 90th birthday was at the Courtyard in Colfax Saturday afternoon. About 40 friends and family attended. Barb Kinzer of Pullman made a delicious carrot cake for the celebration.

Later, almost 50 family members enjoyed dinner together at Hill-Ray.

Members of Donna's family who were at the dinner included Nancy and Pat Chase, Tok, Alaska; Janet Camp, wife of the late Alan Camp, their children and grandchildren from Washtucna, Entiat and Spokane; Steve and Becky Camp and their children and grandchildren from Dusty, Edwall and Olympia; Leann and Jerry Hibbard and their children and grandchildren from Palouse, Pullman and southern Idaho; Dorothy Lukins and daughters Laura and Jane from the Portland area; Betty Lukins from Spokane, and her son Kyle from Bainbridge Island, and members of the John Druffel family, Alma, Debbie, Anita and Russ, Paula and Glenn from Colton, Moscow and the Tri-Cities.

Mark and Kathy Vogler attended a 70th birthday party with a “70s” theme in Edmonds for Chad Assareh’s father. Chad is the Vogler’s son-in-law.

Assareh’s large extended family were all in vintage apparel. The attire was “70s” for the dinner and dance to a live band. Chad, Anna, Iris and Owen Assareh and Henry, Cari and Sam Vogler enjoyed themselves. Henry wore his dad’s college era leather headband and poncho. Mark was able to find and wear his plaid bell bottoms from his Whitman College days, and Kathy was attired in a polyester jumpsuit.

Saturday, a family burial service with full military honors was held for Neil Walker at the Dusty Cemetery. Walker was the husband of the late Annie Stueckle Walker, daughter of Dusty natives Chris and Millie Stueckle. Walker served as a pilot in the United States Air Force for 22 years. Attending the service were Mike and Colette Walker Porter and son Matt, Spokane Valley; Dan and Dianne Morris, Valleyford; Jeanne Levy, Buddy and Sandy Gilbert and Steve and Debby Gwinn, all from the Seattle area, and Harmon and Jan Smith, Dusty. The cousins spent Saturday and Sunday together with outings to Steptoe Butte and Palouse Falls, enjoying meals and visiting.
