Serving Whitman County since 1877
Arrangements are falling into place for the annual Endicott Flea Market this weekend. The market is scheduled for Saturday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Previously, it was announced that the market would change locations this year from the Andersons’ lot to the Basketball Park on the corner of Third and E streets. However, the location was recently switched back the Andersons’ lot, across the street from the Endicott Food Center.
“It was a logistics issue,” said Cinda Tribble, Endicott Community Club president. “Everyone just agreed it would be better to keep it where it was last year.”
As of Tuesday this week, there were 15 vendors signed up to participate in the market.
“People can come on that day and register for $15,” said Tribble. “I am sure we’ll have the space for them.”
Some of the vendors this year include wood workers, crafters and a hot dog, corn dog and nacho stand. The Endicott branch of the Whitman County Library will also have a spinning wheel at its booth, which youngsters can spin to win prizes.
“Some people don’t know what they want to do yet, they just signed up to have a space,” commented Laura Jones, town/clerk treasurer.
The flea market is open to vendors and customers from anywhere.
“It should be a lot of fun. We have a lot of new neighbors in Endicott, so hopefully everyone will come out and enjoy some good community time,” said Tribble.
The flea market was started as a way to consolidate community garage sales into one space instead of all over the town.
Jones said she is hoping for a good turnout.
“Hopefully the weather holds,” she said. “That’s always the tricky part.”
To inquire about registering for the market, contact Tribble at 714-785-4948 or Jones at Town Hall. Spaces are 12x12.
