Parks director will retire May 31

Whitman County Parks and Recreation Director Tim Myers is set for retirement on May 31, and the Board of County Commissioners Monday, May 15, took action to establish an interim plan for the department. The board unanimously voted to appoint Janel Goebel as interim department head. Myers headed up the parks and recreation department and was also the county coordinator for the developmental services department. Goebel is currently the program representative in the parks and recreation department.
