Oakesdale girls win state 1B track title
After a long final day in the state track finals at Roos Field in Cheney, Oakesdale took to the awards stand with the championship trophy.
The Nighthawks won the title with a two-point margin over Mount Vernon Christian.
Last year they tied with MVC for the title.
On the stand, starting at left, are Logan Reed, Samantha Meserve, Aliya Rutledge, Amber Jones, Maddy Dingman, Elisabeth Perry, Hayden Brown, Emma Perry, Julie Baljo, Lauryn Rawls and Anne Hockett.
Seated at left in front are coaches Heath Cooper, Betsy Rawls and Cap Perry.
A note for next year: Brown holds the state trophy because she is the lone senior on the team.
The rest of the crew is expected to be back next year, faster and stronger.

Colfax baseball claims state 1B title
Colfax baseball players line up for a team photo Saturday after pegging an overtime win over Tri-Cities Prep to win the state 1B title.
The Bulldogs had a 23-1 record for the season and bagged the first baseball title for Colfax since 2003 when the Bulldogs competed in the A division.
