Colfax golf trio collects title in state golf finale

The three Colfax entrants in the state's all-B finals took the team title May 24 after the second round of play at Horn Rapids in Richland. Colfax finished with a team score of 36, with Chance Weitze fourth, Bennett Gray 11th and Augie Allenbach 13th.

Colfax was the only team to advance three golfers on the last day after the state field was cut from 40 to 20 at the end of the first day. That boded well for taking the team title when it was finished, coach Bruce Perisho noted.
