COAST to take Endicotters to LaCrosse senior lunches

COAST Transportation will now provide van service from the Endicott Food Center to the meal site at the LaCrosse Café. The senior meal in LaCrosse is served on the first and third Tuesdays.

The first COAST van shuttle for Endicott seniors will be Tuesday, June 20. The van will be at the food center at 11:15 a.m. for the ride to LaCrosse, and it will make the return trip at 1:30 p.m.

“Even if one or two come, we’ll come out and get them,” said Paige Collins, executive director at the Council on Aging and COAST Transportation. “I’m hoping we’ll get a van load.”

Reservations are required, and if the council does not receive a reservation the van will shut down on that date.

Collins said they decided to provide the service after receiving requests from Endicott residents who would like to join the meal.

“It’s the closest senior meal to them,” said Collins.

Senior meals are available free to those 60 and older.

The noon meal is sponsored and paid for by the Council on Aging and prepared by the LaCrosse Café. The meal is at noon.
