Larry and Di Brink attended a graduation party in Kennewick Saturday for their eldest grandchild, Ashley Brink, daughter of Kevin and Amber Brink. Ashley has been accepted to a college in Vancouver, B.C., where she plans to pursue courses in linguistics.
Sunday morning, Harm and Jan Smith attended the worship service at Selbu Lutheran Church to witness the Affirmation of Baptism and First Holy Communion of Alynn and Ty Harder, Austin Stanley and Abree Aune.
A small group of church members, plus Trudy and Gary Libey of Colfax, met at Country Bible Church Sunday morning to bag soup ingredients for Homestead Ministries. Nineteen people produced 400 bags of soup mix. After completing their labors, they shared a lunch of lentil tacos.
Country Bible Church will hold its annual picnic Sunday, June 11, sometime around noon, following morning worship services which start at the new summer time of 10:30 a.m. The picnic will be at the Loren Scaggs residence in Dusty. All are welcome. Bring lawn chairs and a side dish or dessert.
Sunday, Karen Broeckel went to Spokane to attend Lilac City Comic-Con at the convention center. Accompanying her were Andrew and Emily Nolan and Lauren, Grady, Holden and Murphy, Spokane, and Emily’s brother, Trevor Ovens, Lewiston. Broeckel went to see Travis Bundy, one of the owners and contributors of Creater’s Edge Press. Broeckel has known Bundy since they both lived in Lakewood. He drew three small illustrations for Lauren, Grady and Holden. After the closing of Comic-Con, they all met at Wisconsinburger for dinner.
