Summer concerts
slated at Dahmen
Six dates have been booked for the third annual summer concert series June 17 through Sept. 2 at Dahmen Barn in Uniontown.
Claude Bourbon on tour from the UK kicks off the series June 17 and the The Jessica Lynne Duo from Seattle will conclude it Sept. 2. Admission will be $15 with tickets sold only at the door. Doors open at 6:15 with wine, beer and snacks for sale. Music starts at 7 p.m.
This year’s concert series is dedicated to Leslee and Dale Miller. Leslee has managed the Barn since 2006 and is retiring this year. Dale has worked with the Uniontown Community Development Association since 2001 and was instrumental in developing the Dahmen Barn property as a regional creativity center. Both are avid music fans who initiated the series in 2015.
Claude Bourbon's latest album utilizes strains of folk, western, jazz and blues through such melodic delights as the traditional English Dance, Rodrigo and a gorgeous version of the Rolling Stones’ Angie.
On the schedule in July are Bridges Home, invited back for their third performance at the Barn because the audience gives the trio standing ovations every time. The Gunters will play Americana, Celtic and roots. Also in July, The Hankers will be featured.
In August, The Cherry Sisters Revival, a string band of ukuleles, a banjo, percussion and vocals will perform. The Sesitshaya Marimba Band will play traditional and contemporary songs from Sub-Saharan Africa.
The Jessica Lynne duo from Seattle features Jessica Lynne, a sensational and rising country star and one of London Tone Music’s most successful artists.
