Lamont – 5 p.m. – Summer Reading Kickoff – Whitman County Library and Lamont Fire Department are hosting a Summer Reading BBQ. Join us for free food and fun. Children will take home a book and other prizes.
Colfax Hyde Out – 6:30 p.m. – Trivia Night – Test your knowledge, bring your team and WIN. This week’s winner receives a ceiling tile in their honor at the Hyde Out.

Endicott – 2 p.m. – Summer Reading Kickoff – Join us for a fun filled afternoon of paper airplanes and building community bonds.

Tekoa – 1:30 to 5 p.m. – Slippery Gulch Celebration – The Tekoa library will be open extra hours during the Slippery Gulch celebration to offer tours of the Tekoa Museum and share online Rural Heritage photos.
Tekoa Jaycee Club – 4 to 5 p.m. – Trivia Night – Adults, bring your team or join one when you get there. Test your knowledge and win great prizes at this fun Slippery Gulch event.
Sunday, June 18
Colfax – Why I Moved to Colfax Photo Exhibit: Chapter II – View Tom Mohr’s expanded exhibit, featuring updated landscape panoramas and images from the McNeilly Cattle Roundup. The exhibit runs from June–August at The Center.
Monday, June 19
Endicott and St. John – Family Variety Program with Henrik Bothe – Henrik, a native of Denmark, is coming to the Endicott Library at 10 a.m. to perform for both Endicott and LaCrosse communities with his family friendly act of comedy, juggling and magic. Henrik will be at the St. John Library at 1 p.m.
Colton – 10:30 a.m. - Join us for six weeks of fun as we “Build a Better World.” Activities include games, art, science, engineering experiments and more.
Oakesdale – 1 to 3 p.m. – Energy Assistance – Anita Peterson from Community Action Center will be assisting low income households with home energy costs. Call 1-800-482-3991 for more information or to schedule an appointment.

Palouse – 9:30 a.m. – Join us for summer reading FUN. Children and families are welcome to attend.
Colfax and Tekoa – Family Variety Program with Henrik Bothe – If you like fast paced juggling, mystifying magic and laugh-out-loud comedy...THIS is for you. The Colfax event is at 4 p.m., and the Tekoa event at 6 p.m.
Colfax – 7 to 8 p.m. – TEK Tuesday: The Center, From Drugstore to Community Center – Join library director, Kristie Kirkpatrick, as she takes you on a journey through the development, funding and future plans for The Center.
Wednesday, June 21
Albion, Garfield, Malden, Oakesdale, St. John – Summer Reading – Join us for learning, stories, fun and snacks.
Colfax – 10 to 11 a.m. – Drawing Classes for Kids – Join Molly Rice for a beginners drawing class for kids ages 8 and up. Cost is $15 per day with materials provided. Please register by June 16 at 595-1754 or [email protected]
Colfax – 6 p.m. – Baha’is Presentation – Baha’is begin Bicentennial Observances and Dr. Peter Haug of Colfax will speak on “Hope for a Troubled World: A Bahá’í Perspective.”

Colfax – 12 p.m. – Teacher’s Retirement Seminar – Whitman County teachers and school district faculty are invited to learn about making their best retirement plan. For additional information, please contact Bill Skavdahl at 332-2543.
Tekoa – 12 to 1 p.m. – Summer Reading Emergency Preparedness – Kids can build a better world through preparedness with a Red Cross volunteer who will help them make a pillowcase project and emergency readiness kit.
