Now 72 percent gone: Added budget requests tap county's 2017 general contingency fund

While half of the year is over, the county’s $100,000 contingency fund for the operating budget has been tapped for $72,827 after requests for additional expenditures were approved Monday by the Board of County commissioners.

Eight requests totaled $88,827 for a tap on the fund.

The requests for added funds were offset by a $16,000 gain on the revenue side. That’s the added amount the fair expects to collect from an increase in event charges.
