Rock contractor sought

Whitman County commissioners June 5 approved establishment of a rock-crushing project at the county's leased Bauer Quarry near Uniontown.

Bid documents will now be put together by the Public Works department to seek a contractor to crush nearly 50,000 tons of rock into gravel to use on county roads for chip-sealing, sanding and general maintenance.

The preliminary estimate for the project is $350,000.

The work may be done by later this summer....
