Inspired Palouse art contest

Artists from this region can win up to $700 in juried prizes in a new Plein Air competition. All art media will be eligible for submission with a deadline of July 17.

An artist reception, exhibition and art sale will be Aug. 25 at The Center in Colfax at 5:30 p.m. with awards being announced at 7 p.m. This event is free and open to the public, with complimentary refreshments and no-host beer and wine.

Bridges Home

set for Dahmen

Bridges Home from Sandpoint, Idaho, will perform the second summer concert at Dahmen Barn Saturday, July 8, from 7 to 9 p.m.

Bridges Home consists of Tami, Dave and Paul Gunter, vocalists and multi-instrumentalists. They perform Americana, Celtic, Roots and many originals.

Admission will be $15 at the door beginning at 6:15 p.m. Wine and beer will be available for purchase by adults.

They performed the last two years at the barn.

Creativity days slated at Dahmen

All day summer creativity days for kids at the Dahmen Barn are slated for the next four Thursdays, July 13, 20, 27 and August 3.

Three topics each Thursday will be fun in the clay studio, a culinary arts session and a creative art project.

Deadlines for registrations for each of the four weeks prior Mondays, July 10, 17, 24, and 31.

Class fee is $40.
