Pullman Fire Department will have an open house at its newly renovated Station 2, at Terre View and North Grand, on Saturday, July 8, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Visitors will be able to talk to the Whitcom dispatchers who operate the 9-1-1 system for the area and representatives of hospice will be in attendance. Firefighters will demonstrate training and conduct fire extinguisher classes at 11 a.m. and 1 p.m.
For children, Sparky, a pedal fire truck, a tunnel, a chance to put water on a burning house, an obstacle course and balloons will be offered.
Infant seat checks and a representative on site to answer questions on ambulance billing will also be on the agenda.
A recruiting table will be set up for those who might have an interest in joining the department reserves.
