Art deadline passes

The deadline for the Plein Air “Inspired Palouse 2017” Art Competition was Monday, July 24. Conflicting dates on various press materials sent out for the contest led to confusion.

The contest is a new multimedia art competition and exhibition sponsored by the Colfax Arts Council. Entries were allowed in all media – painting, fabric art, sculpture, photography and more. Works were required to have an open-air perspective on a specific subject within a 40-mile radius of Colfax.

Accepted artworks will be exhibited at The Center in Colfax Aug. 16-17. Reception and prizes worth more than $700 will be presented Aug. 26.

Plein Air is a style of painting which explores light and atmosphere in outdoor settings.
